Night sweats, Summer sweats…They’re all the same…Horrible!
We’ve reached that time of year again where, if you’re in the UK, you probably don’t have air conditioning in the house and the nights are long and uncomfortable. Whilst I am not sure I’d spend the night on the floor in the kitchen with the fridge door open, there are some great secrets for alleviating the situation.
Take a Tip from the Egyptians?
An updated version would be to spritz a bedsheet with water and place in a ziplock bag in the freezer. Get out immediately before bedtime and throw it over yourself.
Portable bedside plug-in fan for holidays?
I bought this little fan for going abroad on holiday. You can never guarantee the air con will be working even if you’ve booked a room with it, as I discovered on my last holiday. However, I had this small, light, portable and surprisingly powerful fan in my suitcase that has a USB charging port so its super easy to plug into your travel plug and placed on the bedside table. At home it’s moved to my office, where I plug it into my computer. Fan-tastic!

Silk Sheets
How decadent you may say but I can honestly report this is a really good option and just totally different to throwing over a cotton sheet. If you’ve bought the little fan above, you’ll be strangely fascinated by how easily a silk sheet wafts gently in the breeze, whilst avoiding a crick in your neck by morning. Silk adjusts to the temperature of your body and is naturally hypoallergenic to boot. Silk has a high protein content so does not absorb moisture from the skin and hair, preventing wrinkles and keeping hair glossy.
